Much good cheer served at Victorian Christmas tea

Afternoon tea conjures images of dainty ladies sipping delicately from petite, fragile cups. Perhaps there are scones and other pastries, sandwiches with the crusts cut off, and other foods cut into small portions and eaten with smaller bites. The background noise might include low conversation, the clack of a spoon against a saucer, a few plinks from a harp or a piano in the corner.
