Linda Pappas Funsch has spent much
of her life studying the Middle East.
Over the past 35 years, she visited
several countries in the region, but one eluded her time and again Saudi Arabia.
That changed, however, last November when Ms. Funsch was invited to study the country with a delegation of Middle East specialists from the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations.
As a result of her 10-day trip, Ms. Funsch has put together this extensive seven-part multimedia series about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. From the logistics of getting there to its history and the customs of its people, Ms. Funsch leaves no noteworthy topic unmentioned. She describes this country as "concerned with modernization while, at the same time, determined to preserve its rich cultural traditions."
She shares her expertise throughout this series.
